Follow the locals' playbook: rope drop to 1 PM at the theme park, pool or water park from 2-5 PM, then return for evening entertainment when it cools down.
Florida summer heat is serious. Carry refillable water bottles, take advantage of free ice water at any quick-service restaurant, and take indoor AC breaks every 90 minutes.
Daily 2-4 PM thunderstorms clear out crowds. Pack a poncho, take shelter for 30 minutes, then enjoy shorter lines when fair-weather guests leave.
Disney Cruise Line summer sailings (especially Alaska) sell out 12-18 months in advance. Do not wait for a deal -- the best cabins go first.
"The best-kept summer secret at Disney is the evening hours. After 7 PM, temperatures drop 10-15 degrees, crowds thin out, and Magic Kingdom stays open until midnight on peak nights. Do your biggest rides after dark."
