🔹 What’s Changing?
Effective June 18, 2025, the required deposit for new Disney Cruise Line bookings will be reduced from 20% to just 10% of the voyage fare. This new policy applies to all new reservations made on or after that date.
Have an existing reservation made before June 18? Don’t worry — your original 20% deposit and terms will remain the same.
🔸 What About Cancellation Fees?
- For new bookings made on or after June 18, 2025:
- If you cancel during the deposit cancellation fee period, the cancellation fee will match your deposit — 10% of the voyage fare.
- For bookings made before June 18, 2025 (with the 20% deposit), the 20% cancellation fee still applies.
- Concierge Guests: Deposits remain non-refundable, per DCL’s existing policy.
🔹 Modifications and Rebooking
Want to take advantage of the new lower deposit? If you're outside the cancellation fee window, you can cancel and rebook your reservation under the new 10% deposit terms. Just remember: standard cancellation fees apply if you’re within the penalty period.
🚢 Onboard Placeholder Reservations
There’s great news here, too!
- When adding a sail date to an existing Placeholder Reservation for sailings 7 nights or longer, the deposit is now just 5% of the voyage fare.
- If canceled within the deposit cancellation fee window, the cancellation fee is also only 5%.
- There’s no more 3-day hold when converting Placeholder Offers — deposits are now due at the time of conversion, either through the Contact Center or online.
