Halloween Horror Nights
Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) is Universal Studios' premiere Halloween event, running on select nights from September through early November at both Orlando and Hollywood locations. This is a separately ticketed, after-hours event that takes over the park.
Each year features original and IP-based haunted houses (typically 10 in Orlando, 8 in Hollywood), roaming scare zones throughout the park, and live entertainment. The houses are meticulously designed with movie-quality sets, actors, and effects.
Important: this event is designed for adults and is NOT recommended for children under 13. The scares are intense, the themes are mature, and there is no "family-friendly" version. If you have younger kids, consider Mickey's Not-So-Scary or Oogie Boogie Bash instead.

Plan Like a Pro
The Express Pass is worth every penny -- it can cut your house wait times from 90+ minutes to under 15
Start with the houses in the back of the park and work forward -- most guests hit the front houses first
Weeknights (especially early September) have the lowest crowds
Eat before the event or use the themed food booths -- sit-down restaurants are mostly closed
Wear comfortable shoes -- you will walk 6-8 miles on a typical HHN night
